It’s funny reading that your work which you really like is actually not worthy of anything. I liked that weathered old barn photo! Oh well, more photos soon.

2009: Moving Forward
Cool year. I lived with family, roommates and on my own. I went on three trips to places I have never been before, for about 2 months of travel. I met people from almost every continent, learned to spend less and care more. These are my resolutions that I had written up at the beginning of this year:
Get those tattoos.
Start a 5-year project.
Read at least one book per month.
Talk less when...

2009: Music
When I first started listening to electronic music, the genres didn’t make sense. I couldn’t understand why garage was called what it was. “This sounds nothing like Garage Rock. Does this have anything to do with garages?” This year did not stop the trend. We can probably blame the Guardian or NME or all of Britain or something but I have to say that 2009 had some...

Photos: Inside and Outside
If there’s one thing that I’ve grown to dislike, it’s scanning negative film. The colour balance is so tricky I eventually just give up. Does anyone have any tips? I got two rolls of Portra 160NC back today, you can see them all here.
The great thing about getting through one book—hard-won, long-delayed,...

At once very complex and incredibly simple. I wasn’t aware that the SX-70 film packs contained a battery as well. Ingenious.

This is a list of events that caused me to really enjoy my day today:
Somebody that I haven’t seen in a while was in a dream this morning. I’m now very curious about how they’re life is and I really miss New York.
Received a long-shot email that will hopefully open up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.
Mailed two letters to friends in Halifax and Tallahassee, although I...
On Friendship
dartboard:
Deliberately, reducing time on the internet is counterproductive (unless, you have an addiction.). Instead the focus should be to actively pursue building relationships, sharing, and creating with others.
I feel like the first sentence is a generalization, second sentence is dead on. What I was trying to convey (and I probably did a poor job doing so, it was a...

or, “How I’m Still Trying to be More Conscious and Deliberate”
William Deresiewicz’s article on friendship from early civilization through to this exact second that you’re writing another tweet is not news. You’ll read it and not have learned a single datum or point of view that you haven’t read or thought up yourself. But you’ll feel something...
