WatchWatch
I put in some time last night working on my amplifier project again after I had received all of the remaining ICs and parts I need for the electronics late last year. One of the decisions I made was to have multiple inputs – a default for an Apple TV (or insert media box) and auxiliary (via minijack and Bluetooth) - and therefore a method of switching between the two. Homepage
I had been hand-coding everything on my site before and that’s only fun for so long. Now it runs on Stacey: a minimal CMS that gives just the right constructs to make life easier. It lists the projects I’m working on, my mixtapes and photos and is closer to what I really want. And it looks exactly the same. I’ve also made some changes to Juke, my jQuery plugin for mixtapes. It...

The librarian is the interface between reams of data and the untrained but motivated user. … [Kids] need a librarian more than ever (to figure out creative ways to find and use data). They need a library not at all. – Seth Godin What happens to librarians and...

On Nest
Some people think that Nest is an overpriced thermostat. Who cares! It’s the smart home, at long last. They won’t stop at a thermostat. They’re Apple-ing (in the sense of taking something that already exists and doing it right) home automation. This is fascinating to imagine.
